Hands-on Customer Analytics


Customers are more empowered and connected than ever, with unprecedented access to information anytime and anywhere. Social media networking activity is generating big data and customer data analysis will turn info crude oil into business fuel. Customer analytics technologies and processes enable organizations to move faster to predict behavior and identify the best offers and actions for increasing retention rates, reducing churn, enhancing margins, and more.

This hands-on Lab will dive deeper into the key areas of customer analytics: descriptive analytics, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics.


Get hands-on experience in analytics behind the keyboard and discover what works for you and your organisation

ba4all will organise at least one Technology and one Business Application Session deep dive in 2016, where a limited number of members can get acquainted with new tools in analytics in a full day training setting. A hands-on session is a practical one day immersion in an analytical tool for technology specialists as well as for business end users. These sessions are for a select, hand-picked audience to make sure we put the right profile in the right session.

Why attend

Through instructor-led discussion and interactive, hands-on exercises, participants will get familiar with some of the techniques and principles applied in customer analytics using both online and offline customer data. Some of the hands-on exercises will be end-to-end exercises from connecting to data sources to delivering visual insights and sharing these with colleagues and management; other exercises will be more topical.

Topics covered:

  • End-to-end exercise: Retail chain context
  • A/B-testing: Create tests and evaluate their success in order to determine your future approach
  • Churn: How can we predict which customers are going to leave our web site? Based on which behavior?
  • Basket analysis: Which products are chosen from a basket, and can we find out why? What will happen when we change the price of a product?
  • Team exercise: What is the best way to analyze customer behavior?

Who should attend

This hands-on lab is intended to enable business users and managers, not just data experts, to engage in customer analytics.

Attendance is limited to 12 participants.




Kahraman Onur

Onur Kahraman is senior sales engineer at MicroStrategy, a leading provider of enterprise software platforms in analytics, mobility and security. Previously, he dedicated his efforts in helping organisations to adopt analytics in Benelux as senior consultant and team lead. He holds a BSc in Engineering and MBA in Management.

Klop Martin

Martin Klop works as a Business Intelligence Developer for OnMarc, a leading provider of Customer Analytics solutions. As a BI developer, he has developed various analytical solutions for companies like Achmea (largest insurance company in The Netherlands) and Colruyt. Besides working as a BI Developer he is also a passionate cellist.

Hands-on Labs are for a select, hand-picked audience to make sure we put the right profile in the right session. All ba4all events are geared towards an optimum ratio between end users from the business and technical community on one hand and employees from the vendors and professional services providers on the other hand. Therefore ba4all can restrict access to non end-users, sales and recruiting profiles after a thorough screening process.


No fee will be charged if the cancellation is made in writing up to 3 business days prior to the start of a session. Cancellations received less than 3 business days prior to the start of a session and non-attendances will be charged at 20 EUR.

This session is organized by Business Analytics for All which reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit or deny access to the session to any entity or individual.
