Description

Understanding the finance organization’s perspective of technology is critical for CIO’s and other IT leaders. However, the relationship between the finance and IT departments remains challenging because of the perception that no value is achived through IT investments. Fayet Laurent

Laurent Fayet is CEO of ARTYCS. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Analytics Officer of Euroclear, a world leading provider of post-trade services in the financial industry. Having started his career in the French diplomacy, Laurent joined Euroclear in 2001. During 5 years, he held various positions in the financial division, acquiring a comprehensive skillset in financial management. In 2006, Laurent joined the IT division where his focus was primarily on business transformation and people management. As a member of the division’s management, Laurent headed several teams in the area of project analysis and support. In 2011, Laurent was appointed head of Business Intelligence. As a strong believer of the added value of advanced analytics and Big Data, Laurent complemented the BI services offering through the implementation of a Data Analytics Lab which main objective was to leverage the added value of data to improve risk management, operational efficiency and customer understanding. Thanks to his work, Euroclear is now considered a leader in the field of Big Data Analytics in the financial industry. Laurent is very active in the world of Big Data, acting as speaker in various conferences, writing articles, supporting communities and giving lectures in leading Belgian schools.
